Interventional Cardiologist Rudhir Tandon, M.D., FACC, joins Northwest Health

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (April 19, 2021) — Rudhir Tandon, M.D., FACC, board-certified interventional cardiologist, recently joined the active medical staff of Northwest Health, practicing at Northwest Cardiology – Bentonville.
Dr. Tandon comes to Northwest Arkansas from Iowa City, Iowa.
He is board-certified in interventional cardiology, general cardiology, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and vascular interpretation. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Tandon earned his medical degree from Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, India. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. Dr. Tandon completed his fellowships in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and advanced heart failure/heart transplant at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
His areas of interest include stenting of high risk blockages in heart arteries with a heart pump, circulation problems due to narrowed blood vessels in legs, kidneys, brain and small intestine. He performs minimally invasive procedures to close holes in the heart septum, to remove blood clots in blood vessels of leg, arm and lung and to place filters to prevent life threatening blood clots in lung arteries in patients who cannot take blood thinners.
Dr. Tandon is trained in other minimally invasive catheter based structural heart procedures including aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair and closure of left atrial appendage in patients with atrial fibrillation to prevent stroke who cannot take blood thinners. He has expertise in management of patients with advanced/end stage heart failure, and implanting small wireless devices in lung arteries - devices that provide information to help prevent hospitalizations and improve quality of life in heart failure patients.
